Kosher Recipe of the Day


Today's recipe for Chocolate Chip Banana Bread comes from a close family friend. Her recipe is the best I've ever tasted and, trust me, I've eaten a lot of banana breads in my life!

This recipe is pareve, so you can decide whether you would like to bake it using a meat oven and utensils, or a dairy oven and utensils. If you bake it in a meat oven, be sure to serve it on meat plates, or paper plates. If you bake it in a dairy oven, be sure to serve it on dairy plates, or paper plates.

The blessing over this Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is: Boruch Atah Ado-nay Elo-heinu Melech Ha'olam Borei Minei Mezonos. Blessed are You, L-rd our G-d, King of the Universe, Who creates species of sustenance.

2 cups whole wheat flour
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
2 sticks margarine
1/2 bag chocolate chips
3 soft bananas

In one bowl, cream bananas, sugar and margarine with a fork until smooth. Beat eggs in another small bowl and add to the banana mixture. Add flour slowly, stirring constantly. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour batter into two loaf pans and bake for 55 minutes at 350 degrees.

Traditional diets of Jewish people consists of Kosher foods. Are people other than Jewish people allowed to enjoy Kosher foods? Of course anyone can. Kosher food is not limited to a certain race. Kosher food is not limited to people who are of Jewish descent but is also appropriate for those who are on a specific diet.
